Oracle recently made important announcements for JD Edwards customers around support dates and continuous delivery for technology improvements. You will find highlights below and a link to an important Oracle FAQ document containing this information.
If you are running JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or World here are the new dates through which premier and extended support are available (click image to expand).
Oracle also announced “JD Edwards Continuous Delivery” as an improvement to the ERP software maintenance process. What does this mean for you as JD Edwards customer? Don’t worry, Oracle will continue delivering enhancements on a regular basis along with maintenance, regulatory updates, and technology improvements. What it really means is that the teams at Oracle are now producing software in short cycles, which ultimately ensures it can be released at any time. The delivery of software can be faster and more frequent as a result of these shorter cycles. The end result is that instead of having the risk of installing changes as major releases you can now perform incremental updates from JDE to the applications you have in production, thus saving cost and time. The risk of potential disruption of a major upgrade is significantly reduced in this model and you can stay on top of product innovations and new features.
If you are interested in learning more about Continuous Delivery for JD Edwards and the extension of Support for EnterpriseOne and World I highly recommend reading this Oracle FAQ article.
