May 25, 2016

Authored by Alana Johnson, TeamCain

The theme of the Eastern Canada Regional User Group (ECRUG) 23rd Annual Conference is Transformation. Since its inception in 1993, ECRUG has hosted this annual event to provide education and networking opportunities to the 400+ PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud professionals who attend from across Eastern Canada.

"Transformation isn't about improving. It's about re-thinking." - Malcolm Gladwell

TeamCain is honoured to be hosting a workshop from 12:30 to 5:00 PM on June 20, the first day of ECRUG. Our workshop is all about transforming (and re-thinking) the key concepts of ERP success from a top down approach. We’ll be exploring the factors that should be included in ERP Governance, an ERP Roadmap, what options are in use at other organizations for evaluating and deciding on projects to approve and how you can mitigate risk associated with the ten most common factors that can impact the success of a project ERP. If you’d like to join us, make sure to register for “ERP Governance and the 10 Success Factors You Need to Know.”

In 2016, ECRUG strives to engage participants through breakout sessions, workshops and demo pods that provide a learning opportunity for Oracle product users that is unparalleled in Canada. They’ve also transformed their format by including two keynote speakers.

Keynote #1: The 7 Types of Innovation Superheroes

The Hilton Hotel took 93 years to build 610,000 hotel rooms. Airbnb assembled 650,000 in under four years. We are living in an era where a company can reach a billion-dollar valuation in slightly more than a year and a host of exponential technologies are transforming how we do business. But, are we ready?

According to a recent study by Deloitte, only 13% of Canadian companies are prepared for the onslaught of change brought about by technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, crowdsourcing, 3D printing and virtual reality.

During this keynote, Terry Stuart, Chief Innovation Officer at Deloitte Canada, will tell you more about the Seven Heroes of Innovation and how to you can join forces with them to make great things happen.

Keynote #2: Adapting to the New Digital Economy

From the Industrial Revolution of the 1800’s to the internet age of the 1990’s, a new digital is upon us today. Some companies are adjusting well, many remain confused by the impact that 3rd platform technologies will have on their products, their distribution, their customers and employees as well.

This keynote hosted by Stephen Slade, Director of Analyst Relations for Oracle’s Supply Chain portfolio of products, will share some of the newest technologies entering our industry as well as our lives, and how markets are adopting or resisting them. Many industries now face obsolescence as 3rd platform technologies drive demand and consumption across our entire ecosystem. Learn how you and your company can survive the challenge.
